The first soldiers of the German brigade will arrive in Lithuania at the beginning of April – more than 20 soldiers will be stationed in Vilnius, and their number should increase to 150 by the end of the year.

At that time until 2027 about 5,000 German soldiers are planning to settle in our country, and they will also bring their family members here.

The former Minister of National Defense, Arvydas Anušauskas, previously said that when looking for housing for German brigade soldiers, developers will be contacted directly, whose projects that are already being developed could be adapted to German needs.

“There will be a huge need for that infrastructure. I’m not saying that we will buy it, because the best model is to rent, long-term lease of all the blocks and provide services in the block. There will be that need, maybe not as grandiose as in the beginning. The Germans estimated how many people would come. Their number is smaller than thought, but these are thousands of civilians who will need somewhere to live,” the former minister said earlier.
