“We offer the best conditions for defense industry investments in Lithuania, we have the necessary experience and industrial capabilities, so we hope that Lithuanian investments in defense will become the basis for conducting military equipment tests, repairs, and possibly component production in Lithuania,” G. Landsbergis is quoted in the ministry’s announcement on Thursday. .

He claimed this during a visit to Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, a factory owned by Lockheed Martin.

UH-60 “Black Hawk” helicopters are manufactured at this Connecticut factory, which should reach Lithuania in 2025. Lithuania is buying four such helicopters.

According to G. Landsberg, it is symbolic that the factory founded by an emigrant from Ukraine produces helicopters that “protect people’s lives all over the world, and at the same time provide reliable military protection”.

HIMARS salvo missile systems and other military equipment are also produced in Lockheed Martin’s divisions. Lithuania has signed a 495 mln. USD contract for the acquisition of HIMARS systems.
