The Lithuanian football team, which did not create many chances, beat Gibraltar away from home

The first half

The Lithuanian national team started the match sluggishly and played attacking football less than expected.

In the eighth minute of the match, the first Lithuanian received a yellow card. Edvinas Girdvainis was penalized for rough play.

The Lithuanians created a more dangerous attack only in the 24th minute of the match, when striker Fiodoras Černychas found himself in a quick attack. The goalkeeper who rammed him outside the penalty area earned a red card, and the Lithuanian national team got a chance for a penalty kick.

The second half

In the second half, the Lithuanians began to pressurize their opponents more actively, but they made a lot of mistakes when passing.

The most dangerous chance of the match was created by G. Gineitis, who recently extended his contract with the “Torino” club, in the 57th minute of the match. He responded with a long shot that rattled the crossbar of the opponent’s goal.

A few more moments later, E. Jankauskas’ students managed to score by finally organizing a dangerous attack on the edge of the field.

Vykintas Slivka, who received a sharp pass from his teammate, addressed the ball to the penalty area, and Armandus Kučius, who appeared on the field after the substitution, managed to score a goal with a header 1:0. During the remaining time, none of the national teams managed to score, and the Lithuanian national team won with a minimal result.
