Mothers’ Union opened an unconventional space for business and community events

The support and charity fund “Mamų unija”, in cooperation with the spaces platform “Placer.lt”, for the first time organized an afternoon of business contacts “Non-traditional spaces, cooperation of NGOs and business organizations”. During it, representatives of various businesses were presented with a modern, cozy and truly unconventional space – the “Mamau Unija” event hall. As you know, the foundation has been caring for children with cancer and their families for fifteen years, so, using professional knowledge and imagination, it is constantly looking for various forms of cooperation and support.

In the afternoon, the excursion after 2020 began. opened the doors of the Foundation’s Family House, which consists of a spacious event hall and conference room, 11 apartments, a dining and kitchen area, a rehabilitation center with a swimming pool, a physiotherapy room, an interactive room and other spaces where professionals in their field work.

The Mothers’ Union Foundation offers various forms of cooperation adapted to the individual needs of companies. Companies can organize seminars, conferences, presentations, product launches or even charity events, as well as financially support NGO activities, provide voluntary assistance or share professional knowledge.

“While developing a social business, we had the idea to use this space not only for community events, but also to offer it to our partners and sponsors, who could organize meetings or various activities here. Many tend to think that support funds are just waiting or asking for support. We want to change this stereotype, constantly looking for new opportunities and forms of cooperation, directions of social business and discovering unexploited activity models.

Everyone who visits the Family House of our foundation, hears about our goals and aspirations, feels a special spirit and great enthusiasm to work together. After these meetings, common ideas are born, the desire to volunteer, to organize joint educations aimed at the community of the team. For the fund, this is a great opportunity for the development of social business, so this kind of cooperation creates mutual value”, says Ramunė Duobienė, the project development manager of “Mamų unija”.

By organizing events in the premises of the Mother’s Union, companies not only get a unique space to present their products or services, but also have a unique opportunity to directly contribute to the creation of a better society. The participants of the events can not only settle comfortably in a cozy environment, but also get to know the activities carried out by NGOs, communicate with socially vulnerable groups and even directly contribute to changes. “As the founder of the spaces platform, I think that such initiatives are very necessary. Companies are constantly looking for new ideas and meaningfulness of their social activities, employee engagement. Simply transferring funds is one idea of ​​sponsorship, but involving employees, giving them a touch of the NGO’s activities is much more and creates more value.

According to statistics, 1.2 percent GPM often goes unused. Why – it’s hard to say. Maybe people don’t trust, maybe they don’t have information or don’t understand NGO activities, so such business contact afternoons are a great opportunity to spread ideas, exchange experiences and discuss what value we can create together.

The decision of the Mothers’ Union Foundation to open its doors to communities and their events is a great synergy between business and NGOs.
