Biotechnology company UAB “Nando” won bronze at the “German Business Awards 2024”. Business

“German Business Awards” is a traditional event organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Germany and the Baltic States, which was held this year for the 22nd time. It awarded the most innovative Latvian, Estonian and Lithuanian companies with the greatest market and export potential. Three finalists – Lithuanian company “Nando” and two Latvian companies “Aerones” and “Naco Technologies” – were invited to the 4th “German-Baltic Digital Summit”, which took place this year in Rostock.

“We are really proud not only to be among the top finalists in these awards, but also to have had the opportunity to present ourselves to an audience of more than 500 participants. In the Lithuanian delegation, together with the Vice Minister of Economy and Innovation Karolis Žemaitaičius and representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Germany, we presented Lithuania’s potential in the field of biotechnology to German industry and government representatives. We export our products to more than 20 countries, so recognition in international awards is really gratifying,” says Justinas Taruška, head of Nando’s UAB.

The three finalists were selected by an expert panel consisting of representatives of German companies such as Siemens Energy, DHL, Bayer, Schwenk, Tech for Net Zero Alliance and AHK. However, the ranking of the three finalists was determined by online public voting. The third place was won by the Lithuanian biotechnology company Nando. The first place went to the Latvian wind turbine maintenance robot manufacturers Aerones, and the second place to Naco Technologies, Latvian developers of nanocoatings and other new materials for the production of green hydrogen.
