At night in Vilnius, a BMW crashed into bridge structures and caught fire

0.17 am the witness who called reported that Suarių st. a BMW crashed into the bridge over the Vilnia stream, the driver was nowhere to be seen, and the car itself was smoking.

Rescuers were immediately sent to the scene – firefighters were already extinguishing the BMW that hit the bridge structures when the rescuers arrived. Smoke is billowing from the damaged engine compartment – the fire has not spread further. No one needed medical attention: initially there was no driver or other persons who might have been in the car at the scene of the accident.

The number plate was removed from the BMW. Soon an 18-year-old boy came to the scene of the accident, he said that he caused the accident because he was blinded by an oncoming car. Allegedly, this caused the BMW to toss and hit the bridge structures on the right side of the road.

The 18-year-old claimed that he left the scene of the accident in shock. The guy was sober, but he doesn’t have a license to drive. He was already fined for such a violation, so this time the car will also be confiscated without a fine. The BMW was taken to the police parking lot.
