He again lashed out at prosecutors, who have brought him in four separate cases, including a trial currently underway in New York over hush money. Mr. Trump has denounced it as a “witch hunt” by the Democratic administration, which aims to eliminate the main rival in the race for the presidency.
The White House, which denies any connection to the legal cases, condemned Trump’s comments on Sunday. “Instead of repeating the appalling rhetoric of fascists, dining with neo-Nazis, and spreading debunked conspiracy theories that cost the lives of brave police officers, President Biden is uniting Americans around our shared democratic values and the rule of law,” said spokesman Andrew Bates.
Mr. Biden’s campaign also responded, noting that the Republican’s fiery remarks confirmed “what we already knew: Trump’s campaign is about him.” His fury, revenge, lies and retribution.”
