It is indicated that S. Shoigu’s deputy T. Ivanovas was responsible for the construction of Russian military facilities.

For now, there are no further details about T. Ivanov’s arrest.

If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison.

T. Ivanovas is included in the sanctions lists of Western countries. In December 2022, the Anti-Corruption Foundation founded by the Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny also spoke about T. Ivanov. Then it was announced that T. Ivanov earned money from construction projects in Mariupol.

Russian-run news agencies quoted Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov as saying. The latter said that Vladimir Putin was informed about T. Ivanov’s detention. S. Šoigu knew about it in advance.

“Forbes” magazine, which compiles the lists of the richest persons, named T. Ivanov as an expert in cybernetics and the atomic industry, one of the richest persons in the Russian security structure.

Forbes estimated his assets at more than 136 million euros in 2019.

He became S. Shoigu’s deputy in 2016.

The Russian media announced that T. Ivanov is probably the highest-ranking representative of the Russian government, who has received such accusations since the moment of Russia’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine.
