Order or chaos?

According to a survey conducted by the National Sleep Foundation, 19 percent of people who make their bed every day. sleep deeply more often and feel refreshed and rested in the morning.

Researchers at St. Lawrence University in the US also found that messy bedrooms increase anxiety. But there is another side of the coin. Leaving the bed unmade can be beneficial as the sweat left on the sheets can dry after a night. This causes dust mites to dehydrate and die.

What else do you do in bed?

Do you have a TV in the bedroom? Doctors warn that watching TV in bed can cause back and neck pain, as well as spine problems. If you read in bed, experts at Harvard Medical School advise choosing a book over digital devices because the blue light they emit suppresses sleep hormones.

Constant mode

Research has found that nearly three quarters of Britons don’t get the recommended 7-9 hours of sleep each night. One study found that the best time to go to bed is between 10 and 11 p.m. in the evening, but in order to get a good night’s sleep, the most important thing is to follow a regular routine.

Sleeping until noon on the weekend can disrupt our body’s internal clock, and pushing it longer during the work week is not good either. It has been noticed that a disordered rhythm spoils sleep, a person feels drowsy and restless.

“Sleep routine is also extremely important – a constant sleep schedule that should be followed every lovely day. We have to try to go to bed and get up at the same time,” lrytas.lt Laura Stankevičiūtė, a scientist researching the connection between sleep disorders and neurodegenerative diseases, has previously said. Pajamas or Adam’s suit?

Scientists have found that sleeping naked can be beneficial: it helps regulate body temperature and can even improve your sex life.

There seems to be no perfect sleeping position, but keep in mind that sleeping on your left side is better at relieving heartburn, while sleeping on your back increases your chances of snoring and grinding your teeth.

Whatever position you sleep in, make sure the room is dark and cool (16-18°C). Ventilate the premises – fresh air will help you fall asleep more easily.

Together or separately?

Studies have shown that sharing a bed can help couples get better sleep and improve emotional connection, as well as reduce pain, because sleeping with your partner releases feel-good hormones.

But if your significant other snores, sleep deprivation can affect everything from skin conditions to weight problems.

What about pets? Sleeping with a pet appears to reduce stress. On the other hand, it can increase the risk of getting infections or worms.
