Traveler Lexie Alford from Miami drove 30,000 miles across 27 states in a new electric Ford Explorer. kilometers, crossed six continents. Having withstood the cold, the lack of electricity in Africa and the problems of charging the car in the Atacama desert of Chile, L. Afford happily returned to the south of France, from where on September 8, 2023, she began her “Charge Around the Globe” journey. According to a Ford Motors press release, the Explorer car can travel 600 kilometers on a single charge. During the six-month adventure, L. Afford had to resort to alternative charging solutions, such as using fast DC chargers, solar panels and portable batteries.

Martin Sander, head of Ford Model e Europe, says it’s a big and happy day for Ford of Europe.

This is not Lexie Alford’s first world record. At the age of 21 years and 177 days, she became the youngest person in the world to visit all independent countries and the youngest girl to do so.
