Maximum technical inspection prices will not increase this year, and some will even decrease

The Lithuanian Transport Safety Administration (LTSA) has calculated how much the technical inspection service will cost vehicle owners from July of this year, according to the methodology for determining the maximum prices for mandatory vehicle technical inspection.

MOT prices are indexed every year, taking into account inflation and wage changes in the country, if the wage change since the last price fixing is equal to or exceeds 9 percent. and/or the change in inflation/deflation is equal to or greater than 5 percent. according to the data of the State Data Agency. According to the 2024 In March, the latest data provided by the State Data Agency regarding the change in the wage rate in the country, the technical inspection prices have been recalculated.

The maximum technical inspection prices will not change or even decrease to 1 percent from mid-July this year. Last year, technical inspection prices increased by 5 percent, and two years ago, you had to pay 10 percent more.

New technical inspection prices for the most popular vehicles

For car owners, the price of technical inspection remains the same – 23 euros, but the exact price depends on the fuel used to drive the car.

Owners of gas-powered passenger cars will pay 28.90 euros for the inspection. The technical inspection of a light passenger car powered by gasoline will cost – 23 euros, diesel – 26.70 euros. Prices will not change from last year.

Moped and motorcycle owners will pay 10 cents less for a technical inspection, and 17.20 euros for a four-wheeler technical inspection, which means the price remains the same as last year.

Anyone can familiarize themselves with the draft legal act

The currently prepared technical inspection price draft is published publicly in the information system of legal acts projects (click here) and on the LTSA website and is available to anyone who wants to get acquainted with it. All interested parties can submit comments and proposals for the draft of new technical inspection prices until April 15. Separate consultations with the public are not planned.
