Lithuania wants to create a regional missile launch event with Poland at the HIMARS ammunition logistics center, says President Gitanas Nausda.

He spoke this way on Friday after meeting with Polish leader Andrzej Duda, with whom he watched the Brave Griffin 24/II military exercise.

We specifically talked about HIMARS systems, G. Nausda told journalists. Both Lithuania and Poland intend to join the system. They have already purchased, but they intend to purchase even more in the future, especially bearing in mind that Poland also has a plan to produce ammunition. We would like to cooperate, my request was precisely in that direction, creating a regional logistics center.

According to G. Nausda, Lithuania also wants to participate in joint procurement.

At the end of 2021, Lithuania will have 495 million USD agreed with the USA regarding the acquisition of the HIMARS system.

The army plans to integrate the systems in coordination with the allies, especially with neighboring countries Estonia, Latvia, and Poland.

The first deliveries of HIMARS are scheduled for 2025.
