On Thursday, an unexpected “guest” visited the city of Alytus, which the residents of Alytus were quite surprised to see and even rushed to call the police officers. This is a raccoon who walked the city streets all day, endangering not only road users, but also himself. Reader Diana caught the raccoon stalking the sidewalk and the officers following it on video.
As informed by Kristina Janulevičienė, head of the Communications Sub-Department of the Alytus County Chief Police Commissariat, at about 3 p.m. 40 min., it was reported that a raccoon came on Topolių street, near the gymnasium, elementary school building. Seeing this, the woman, fearing for the children’s safety, called the authorities.
Soon, at 3 p.m. At 48 hours, another report arrived that the raccoon was already walking on the footpaths. However, it was not possible to track down the animal so quickly.
at 5 p.m. 17 minutes another report was received that a raccoon is walking the streets of the city.
Since the animal posed a danger to traffic safety, the residents were afraid, the officials informed the environmentalists about the wild animal, but they replied that they would not be able to come very quickly, they would have to wait a little. Then the animal care association “Keturkojo viltis” began to help. They lured the raccoon into a cage and took it to their premises – temporarily sheltering it until environmentalists arrived.
