It is announced that parking in Palanga and Šventoja will not be more expensive for tourists coming to Palanga from May 15. until September 15, when it is charged. According to the municipality, it will cost the same as last year, or even relatively cheaper.

Depending on the zone, one hour, like last year, will cost from 0.8 euros in the yellow zone to 2.2 euros in the green zone closest to the sea. In the red zone, it will reach 1.6 euros per hour and will not change either.

Another important innovation was also adopted during the council meeting – the city will waive parking charges at night. Therefore, if vehicles are left on the designated city streets, they will have to pay for their parking only from 7 am. in the morning until midnight

There are also spaces on tolled streets in the central part of the city, where you will not have to pay for the first hour of parking at all.

At that time, the five sections of the streets of the green zone closest to the sea will be taxed even after the end of the hot tourist season, that is, from September 16 to May 14. Here from September 16. until May 14 parking cars for one hour will cost a symbolic fee of 1 euro. It will be taken from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

According to the municipality, the purpose of taxing the sections of the streets in the old part of the city in this way is to free the main resort area of Palanga from heavy traffic and to gradually prepare for the formation of low-pollution car zones in the resort.
