Red Bull boss Christian Horner commented in Miami on Adrian Newey’s decision to leave the champions. Although the famous engineer is associated with a transfer to another strong team, C. Horner emphasized that such a decision was prompted simply by “the desire to rest”.

“He spent seven years at Williams, then seven years at McLaren, and almost two decades with us. When we talked to him about the situation, we got to the point where we all realized that the team is in very good shape and working at an extremely high level.

Adrian feels it’s time to retire and get some rest. He will still be working on the hypercar he is designing, but he felt now was the right time to take a break. I think he’s going to get some rest first. He is 65 years old. I think he really deserves the right to take some time off and spend time with his wife and family.

He really really wants to rest. And in the future, maybe he will try his hand at F-1 again, who knows”, said C. Horner.
