A 46-year-old local resident applied to the VPK of Tauragė County on Monday (April 22).

Tauragiškis reported that he was victimized by a woman he met on the Internet.

The friendship established on the social network Facebook was more than pleasant, so it moved forward very quickly.

But it all ended as quickly as it began.

According to the man, the new acquaintance started blackmailing him and demanded 8,500 euros.

Otherwise, the woman threatened to publish photos of pornographic content, which immortalized the tauragiški.

According to law enforcement officers, recently more than one light-hearted man has fallen on the hook of such women or criminals impersonating them.

The advice from the authorities is very simple – to be more careful when communicating on social networks with strangers and not to show anything that could later be very embarrassing or that could be used for nefarious purposes.

The Tauragė county VPK has started a pre-trial investigation into the possession of pornographic content.

Anyone who has produced or purchased or distributed pornographic content with the intent of distribution is liable to public service or a fine or restriction of liberty.

The most severe punishment is imprisonment for up to one year.

If the threatening woman makes the photos or videos of pornographic content public, the Tauragė resident himself will face criminal responsibility for this crime.
