in 2024 we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Lithuania’s membership in the European Union. More than 20 years ago, the people of Lithuania unanimously decided in a referendum to become part of the European Union and to base the further development of the state on common EU values. At that time, even 91.07 percent were in favor of Lithuania’s membership in the European Union. of those who voted.

Commemorating the 20th anniversary of Lithuania’s membership in the European Union, May 2 5:00 p.m. Taurage cultural center (Darius ir Girėno st. 3, Tauragė) the exhibition “Lithuania’s road to the European Union: historical decision” opens.

During the opening of the exhibition, the head of the Political Group of the European Commission’s Representation in Lithuania will deliver the words of welcome Laimute Pilukaite and the mayor of Tauragė district municipality Dovydas Kaminskas.

Event moderator, host of events Laimonas Rimkus will interview the former mayor of Tauragė, member of the Tauragė District Municipality Council Sigita Mičiulis.
