Reader news. The residents of the apartment building are worried after receiving the bill for the repair of one step: the estimate was not provided by the company

The man told “Delfi” that the “last straw” was the repair of the staircase near the staircase, the maintenance of which was reported to the residents as a matter of fact. He claims that he was not asked if the step needed to be repaired, he was not even informed that it needed to be repaired. Residents disappointed by poor communication are even more upset when they see the bill.

“For an hour’s work, they demand 980 euros from us. Such an amount is due to one step,” said the reader.

As proof, the man also sent a report to the residents of “Naujojios Pilaitė” about the work done. The sheet states that the following works were performed for 980 euros (without VAT): fencing of the workplace, preparation of the existing site for work, tying of reinforcement, assembly of paving, concreting and removal of construction waste, demolition of paving.

“We asked to provide us with how much we need to pay for each service, but we were told that they could not do this because the hired company does not keep estimates. How is that possible? So how do we know what we’re paying for? In addition, the situation with the hired company is also very strange – it is located in Druskininkai”, said the resident of Vilnius.

The man did not hide his surprise that a company providing such services was not found in Vilnius – it is said that this could also have inflated the price of the works.

“Delfi” tried to contact the company “Naujoji Pilaitė” to comment on this situation, but did not receive a response either by e-mail or by phone. After receiving the company’s comment, we will supplement the article.
