In order to reduce the complex problems of unemployment, social exclusion and to ensure the smooth integration of Kaunas residents into the labor market, applications for the Employment Increase Program are being accepted. According to the data of the Employment Service, last year Kaunas recorded 9.4 percent. unemployment of the population. For the sixth year now, the aim is to help Kaunians who have been unemployed for a long time to return to the market, update their skills or retrain. Through the Employment Enhancement Program, new jobs are created and social exclusion is reduced.
City institutions, socially responsible businesses and organizations participating in the initiative will make a significant contribution to this. This year, natural persons are not allowed to submit applications.
Institutions are invited to promote the participation of the unemployed in the labor market by creating retraining, training, professional or other work knowledge. It is expected that after acquiring new or restoring lost skills and social abilities, the most vulnerable members of society will not only be employed for a short time, but will also remain in the labor market.
