The commemoration will be opened at noon in Daukanta Square with a solemn ceremony commemorating the 20th anniversary of NATO. During it, two Mirage fighter jets of the French Air Force and four Black Hawk and Chinook helicopters of the US Air Force, which are currently carrying out the NATO air police mission in the Baltic States, will greet Lithuania with their flights.
In the evening of the same day, the opening of the art installation “#MesNATO20” will take place in the Cathedral Square.
From Friday, the interactive exhibition “November. Alpha. Tango. Oscar”. In it, visitors will be able to try out four interactive simulators: parachute, drone suppression, communications and shooting.

in 1994 January 4 Lithuanian President Algirdas Mykolas Brazauskas sent a letter to NATO Secretary General Manfred Werner with Lithuania’s wish to become a NATO member. The letter states the position based on the agreement signed by the representatives of all parliamentary parties regarding Lithuania’s aspiration to become a member of NATO. On the same day, AM Brazauskas issued a statement regarding Lithuania’s membership in NATO.

in 2004 March 29 Prime Minister AM Brazauskas, during his visit to Washington, together with the Prime Ministers of Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia, presented the letters of ratification of the Washington Treaty to US Secretary of State Colin Powell. On this historic day, Lithuania became a full member of NATO.
