Apartment with a view of Gediminas Castle | Business

--

The apartment is located in a historical, 19th century building. in a house built at the end near the Vilnius Archcathedral. The apartments are located on the top floor, so an impressive panorama opens up both from the windows and from the balcony. Every design solution aimed to ensure that both hosts and guests could see Gediminas Castle in any area and doing whatever they were doing. When the designer arrived at the apartment, she was first greeted by an empty space with destroyed walls – not a single particle of the previous interior was left.

This gave freedom for creativity and new functionality. With the clients, it was decided to create three main areas: living room, bedroom and work. The living room also has a kitchen with an island and a dining room, and a huge bathroom is connected to the bedroom, which visually looks like a common space.

A separate room for the workplace. Design solutions allow it to be easily transformed, for example, into an individual child’s space.

In the small guest toilet located next to the living room, both the heating boiler and the washing machine with a dryer are hidden with the help of a door that looks like a part of the wall. The architect set a goal of 90 sq. m apartments to be decorated with luxurious interior design. It’s true, for a specialist, luxury is especially associated with spaciousness. In order to maintain it, the zones are connected by glass partitions, tall double doors. The bedroom is also connected to the bathroom with glass, which can change: be transparent or frosted.

It was extremely important for the architect to create a coherent interior design, so a common color scheme and textures were chosen. Thanks to them, the design subtly repeats itself in all spaces, but has its own difference depending on the type of zone. The integrity was also maintained by the chosen materials – both the living room and the study are decorated with natural marble, and oak parquet in the common and sleeping areas. For the bathroom and guest room, it was decided to choose a more sustainable material – large-format tiles that resemble the veins of natural stone. The tiles were chosen for easier maintenance and water resistance.

Elegance is created by light tones complemented by delicate brass details. Solidity is given to the house by muting the white walls with the contrast of black shades, revealed through the doors, cabinet furniture, lines. Upholstered furniture is covered in light leather fabric – it is durable and adds a touch of coziness and elegance. A leather armchair overlooks the bedroom from the living room.

A bed of the same material was chosen in the bedroom. All the hard furniture is specially designed for these apartments, separately for each space.

The arrangement of light points was also extremely important. Subtle evening lighting is created using various LEDs, and functional daytime lighting is created using spotlights.. The designer especially likes to choose accent lamps with an interesting design in her projects – after all, they not only shine delicately, but also decorate spaces.
