On March 27, the International Theater Day, the Klaipėda Drama Theater presented the prizes and commemorative signs of the Ministry of Culture Professional Performing Arts – “Golden Stage Crosses”, “Boris Dauguvietis Earring” and the Appreciation Award.
“Thank you to Theater Day for this wonderful tradition. Thanks to tradition for bringing us together every year in different scenes, but always with the same goal. The Performing Arts Creators Awards are just one part of that goal. The other part is a reminder that theater is first and foremost a community. And community is a place where shared joy grows and shared pain eases. This day is precisely the day of sharing joy. There are no losers here, because the creator does not lose. Courage, imagination and the ability to see the other will always win here. Thank you to the entire theater community for this,” said Minister of Culture Simonas Kairys, congratulating the theater community.
The “Golden Stage Cross” for 2023’s work in separate nominations earned:
Directing – Adam Juška for the performance “West Coast”, Klaipėda Drama Theater;
The role of a woman – Vilija Grigaitytė behind Vitaly Jūratė Onaitytė behind Alma Inesa Paliulytė for Irene, Lucija Rukšnaittė for Julia’s role in the performance “When we will be young”, Kaunas National Drama Theatre;
The role of the man – Severinas Norgaila for the role of Ivars in the play “Flying Travolta”, State Drama Theater of Šiauliai;
Minor role – Kirill Glushaev for the role of Zhan in the play “Raganosiai”, Lithuanian National Drama Theater;
Scenography – Lauryna Liepaitė for the scenography of the performance “West Coast”, Klaipėda Drama Theater;
Costume design – Sandra Straukaite for the opera “Aida”, Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater, and the performance “Life is a dream”, association Art and Science Laboratory, costume design;
Technology design – Julius Kuršis for the lighting design of the performances “Western Shore” and “Thick Notebook”, Klaipėda Drama Theater;
Music – Donatas Bielkauskas for the sound concept of the sound and movement performance “Out of the Box”, Artist Group “Fish Eye”;
Soloist / soloist – Kostas Smoriginas for the role of Amonasr in the opera “Aida”, Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre;
Choreography – Dovydas Strimaitis for the dance performance “Duetas”, independent dance organization “Be kompanijos”;
Dancer – Oksana Griaznova for a role in the dance performance “Match 3”, independent dance organization “Be kompanijos”;
Ballet soloist/soloist – Yan’as Malaki’s for his roles in the dance performance “Dreams and Cacti”, Klaipėda State Musical Theatre;
Beginning artist – Samanta Pinaityte for the role of Olga in the play “Fragment”, Klaipėda Drama Theater;
A performance for children and young people – Raimonds Klezys for the one-man play “Aries”, “No Shoes Theater”;
Object and puppet theater performance – Julia Skuratova Kaunas State Puppet Theater for the visual design of the play “Lion and Bird”.
“Boris Dauguvietis earring” for the search for new forms of stage expression Mantas Jančiauskas and Rimantas Ribačiauskas – for the trip around the theater and the confrontation between the participants of the performance “Vedami”, art agency “Artscape”.
Thank you bonus and the “Golden Cross of the Stage” for faithfulness to theater research and the testimonies of the times were presented to the theater expert by the Minister of Culture S. Kairys Audrone Girdzijauskaitei.
