The national tourism promotion agency VšĮ “Keliauk Lithuania” together with tourism information centers and the State Service of Protected Areas prepared a list of observation towers, observation wheels, platforms, turrets and other structures recommended to be visited. If you’re determined to climb all 36, you’ll reach a height of over 600m, equivalent to two Eiffel Towers stacked on top of each other.

“Visiting any observation tower in Lithuania is a memorable trip that guarantees unforgettable impressions and breathtaking views from the heights. Friend, this is also a unique opportunity to get to know your country from a different perspective. Each tower is like a separate story, telling about the local nature, culture and people.

Now is the best time to go on such trips to get to know the country, because spring is not only the rebirth of nature, but also the most beautiful spring holidays – St. Easter time. Therefore, the upcoming holiday weekend is a great opportunity to escape from the city to the awakening nature, discover the greening landscapes of Lithuanian regions and rise above everyday life”, comments Neringa Sutkaitytė, a local tourism expert at “Keliauk Lithuania”.

“Using the funds of the European Union, many of the most valuable places in Lithuania’s protected territories have been newly adapted for visiting. It is not only the highest (45 m) towers of the Nemunas Loop Regional Park or the impressive architecture of the Biržai Regional Park, but also the Tree Canopy Trail in the Anykščiai Regional Park, the newest observation tower at the confluence of the Akmena and Jūra rivers in the Pagramanis Regional Park…

From these and dozens of other observation towers, unique landscapes of protected areas with river meanders, strings of lakes, sinkholes and valleys open up. Travel and discover the protected territories of Lithuania”, says the director of the State Security Territories Service, dr. Agnė Jasinavičiūtė.
