TEK Transformatör has been manufacturing and selling distribution transformers for over 40 years and is a growing market player. Becoming the factory’s official sales representative in this region is an important step forward for WiSo Engineering, one of the main renewable energy contractors, as we will now be engaged in the supply of very important and quality energy products,” said Madis Anni, Head of Purchasing at WiSo Engineering.

According to him, transformers are an important part of the electrical network, mostly used in distribution networks, industrial or renewable energy production facilities. Transformers allow high electrical voltage to be changed to low voltage (and vice versa) so that electricity reaches everyone’s home, as well as industrial facilities, hospitals, etc.

“The transformer market from 2018 is changing rapidly. This has been driven by the boom in renewable energy generation, electrification, heavy investment in transmission and distribution networks, rising prices and commodity availability, as well as geopolitical tensions. The situation has improved a little at the moment, but the demand is still huge, and there are no signs that it could subside in the near future,” explained M.Anni.

In Europe, the demand for new transformers is influenced by the modernization of energy systems and the replacement of old devices, industrial development, and the continuous connection of new renewable energy production units. According to M.Anni, the first TEK transformers arrived in Estonia at the beginning of 2023.

“We are local trade representatives, so we make sure that the factory is represented as widely as possible in the region. This creates another strong manufacturer for energy park developers and grid operators operating here to consider when selecting transformers. They will be able to enter new products into tenders. We are happy that the factory recently received the quality certificate of the KEMA laboratory, which guarantees the proper functioning of the product and the highest technical quality for the end user”, noted the representative of the company.

WiSo Engineering (www.wiso.ee) builds energy facilities for farmers, industry, trade and other companies with an annual consumption ranging from several hundred megawatt hours to several tens of gigawatt hours. WiSo Engineering offers end-to-end solutions, state-of-the-art technology, facility maintenance, operations management and prime contracts to power generation park developers.
