The scale and consequences of the attack on Crimea, which was illegally annexed by Moscow in 2014, are not yet known, and Kiev itself has not yet commented on this statement.
Russia, which has been waging a full-scale war in Ukraine for more than two years, often only reports on allegedly successful operations by its air defense forces in neutralizing Ukrainian drone or missile attacks.
Last Tuesday, Ukraine attacked Russian troops stationed in Crimea with missiles recently delivered by the United States. Independent media reported strikes on three military bases in Crimea, resulting in casualties.
Washington has said in recent weeks that a new weapons package for Ukraine will include even longer-range ATACMS missiles. The range of missiles of this type delivered earlier was up to 165 km.
The Crimean peninsula in the Black Sea is one of the most important concentration points for Russian forces, through which soldiers, weapons and ammunition are transported.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has promised to recover all the territory seized by Russia, including Crimea.
