Olly Alexander, 33, famous for his role in Years and Years, took to the stage to represent the UK with the song Dizzy.

His performance on Tuesday night gave fans their first taste of the track, but reactions were incredibly mixed, with fans of the song contest seemingly divided into several camps.

The performance of the representative of the United Kingdom is in the spotlight

While some praise the UK representative for his originality, others say the performance was disappointing. According to netizens, not only did Olly Alexander not sing the song, but the scenography was also disappointing.

One viewer expressed his disappointment on X, formerly known as Twitter, writing: “I had high hopes for this year’s Great Britain Olly Alexander, but now he sounds shockingly poor in the semi-finals.”

“Let’s be honest. Olly Alexander just doesn’t have a voice. In addition, the scenography is very poor. This is a total disappointment,” echoed another.

Despite the negative reviews, the artist also received nice words from his fans.

“Olly’s performance was so professional. I felt like I was watching a music video. The best staging of the year,” one netizen is convinced.

Another audience member had a change of heart after seeing the performance, admitting: “Olly’s performance was brilliant. Well, when I first heard this song, I didn’t like it, but now that I see the production, I like it a lot more.

The singer told the Mirror that he couldn’t think about anything but the final of the competition on Saturday.

“I go to sleep thinking about Eurovision, I dream about Eurovision, I wake up thinking about Eurovision.” It’s just constantly, constantly in my head. I feel like I’ve been through everything that could happen, every possibility, everything has already happened in my head in one way or another. So I don’t know anything else. I’m just full of emotions,” he shared.
