The famous actress who played in the legendary film “Brilliantinas” has died

According to family spokeswoman Melissa Berthier, the actress died peacefully on May 2, surrounded by loved ones. The cause of death was not given.

“The light she brought to every room will be forever missed. She was magical and I was so lucky to be able to call her my best friend,” Buckner’s daughter Samantha Mansfield told People.

S. Buckner was born in 1952. Seattle, USA. The woman became famous in the competition, when in 1971 won the Miss Washington title. The following year, she represented the state in the Miss America pageant.

Buckner parlayed her pageant experience into the entertainment industry and became a member of The Golddiggers, an all-female singing and dancing group that appeared on The Dean Martin Show.

She has also appeared on The Mac Davis Show, Sonny and Cher, and The Brady Bunch Variety Hour.

But it was because of the supporting role in the movie “Brilliant” that S. Buckner became recognizable to millions of Americans.

She got the role of Patty Simcox, a spirited cheerleader who co-starred on screen with Olivia Newton-John.

Although she continued to act in the 1980s, “Brilliant” remains one of the most important roles of her career.

After starring in series such as The Love Boat and The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries, as well as films including Police Academy 6: City Siege, Buckner put show business on the back burner to raise her two children.

Later, she directed children’s theater at an elementary school in Florida and worked as a dance instructor.
