A close friend of Prince William and Kate Middleton says the couple are “going through hell” after the princess was diagnosed with cancer.
Children’s clothing designer Amaia Arrieta – the woman behind many of the young Kensingtons’ outfits – has spoken about how the family coped in the weeks and months following Kate’s devastating diagnosis.
Speaking to the Telegraph, Amaia said: “I’m in pain at the moment. I think they’re going through hell.” She added: “I hope they recover.”
Spanish designer Amaia has been creating children’s clothing since her eldest son Prince George was a baby. She told the publication that she was “very proud” to dress the royal family. Her designs were first spotted in 2014 when Prince George was dressed in shorts and knee-high socks, according to mirror.co.uk.
Currently undergoing treatment
Last week, Prince William gave an update on his wife, who is continuing her cancer treatment while juggling multiple commitments. During his trip to northeast England, he met several royal fans who were waiting outside to catch a glimpse of him.
One of them was 60-year-old Julie Cain, who asked the heir to the throne: “Would you mind if I ask how your wife and children are?” William replied: “Thank you, everything is fine. Yes, we are doing well.”
William has slowly eased back into royal duties after his wife, the Princess of Wales, revealed her cancer diagnosis and chemotherapy treatment last month. William and Kate also recently shared a stunning never-before-seen wedding photo from their personal album to mark their 13th wedding anniversary.
The milestone comes as Kate continues chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. After sharing the shocking news last month, she asked for time, space and privacy as she continues her treatment.
Kate, 42, said the diagnosis had come as a huge shock to her and that she and William were “doing everything they could to keep it private for the sake of their young family”.
