Organized by world-renowned fashion magazine Vogue, the event has a noble purpose: every year on the first Monday of May, it marks the opening of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute exhibition. The money collected during the celebration is used to support the aforementioned institute.
This year, the exhibition “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” was presented, and the official dress code was “The Garden of Time”.
The exhibition features about 250 rare items from the permanent collection of the Costume Institute. Covering more than 400 years of fashion history, the pieces include pieces from Schiaparelli, Dior, Givenchy and other fashion houses.They are divided into three main themes – land, sea and sky.
