Prince William and Kate’s youngest child turns six today, and royal fans have long been hoping for a brand new photo of the prince to be released to mark the occasion.
A new shot of the boy was shared on the social network Instagram. The adorable photo shows Prince Louis lying on the grass and smiling at the camera.
“Happy sixth birthday, Prince Louis!” Thank you for all the nice wishes today,” the caption reads.
The post mentions that this photo was taken by none other than his mother, Kate Middleton, who has a passion for photography. As reported by the Mirror portal, the shot was taken in Windsor in recent days.
Admittedly, fans feared that William and Kate would choose not to share a new shot of their young son following the photo-editing frenzy that followed a Mother’s Day photo of the princess with her three children.
Long seen in public
Prince Louis was last seen in public on Christmas Day, when the royal family made a traditional holiday appearance at King Charles III’s Sandringham estate and went to church.
He was photographed holding hands with Zara and Mike Tindall’s eldest daughter Mia on one side and his father’s fingers in the other.
Since then, the last few have been tumultuous for the family due to Kate’s cancer diagnosis. The couple took the time to sensitively share the diagnosis with their children, who also include Prince George, 10, and Charlotte, eight.
Louis attends Lambrook School in Berkshire with his brother and sister and recently returned to classes after the Easter break.
The family birthday party, which may include the prince’s grandparents Carole and Michael Middleton, is likely to be held after the little one’s school days.
