“Mom is the priority right now. I know how hard it will be for her if I die before her,” said the famous woman in the latest episode of her podcast “Let’s Be Clear”.
“It’s going to be very difficult for her, so I want to do what I can to make it easier for her.” I don’t want her to have to deal with too many questions. I don’t want her to have to worry about four storage units with furniture,” she added.
52 year old Sh. Doherty says she has already started sorting through her belongings: she wants to donate some to charity or sell them. Over the years, the actress has accumulated a number of valuable items, hoping that if something happens to her, they can be sold.
Most recently, a woman visited her home in Tennessee to collect her most valuable possessions. The actress no longer dreams of living there and raising horses.
“We visited Tennessee, I packed things. It was very difficult, many emotions flooded because in a way it was saying goodbye to a dream that I had cherished for so long. I wanted mine and my mother’s home to be there,” the actress shared, adding that she planned to establish a shelter for horses “abandoned by their owners due to age or unmet expectations.”
“It was one of my dreams. So, I packed up and cried… I realized it was saying goodbye to a dream that meant so much to me. Does this mean I’m saying goodbye to life? Does this mean I give up already? Mother was with her, she asked not to give up that house, she said that everything will be fine. It encouraged me that I can do it, and for a moment I thought that maybe I really still can,” the woman shared sensitive moments with the listeners of her podcast.
However, after a week, all valuables from Tennessee were transported to California. The actress admitted that she was visited by a kind of enlightenment, the realization that that dream was a “stupid idea” because the renovation of the house would cost a lot of money. Saying goodbye to that place, according to her, was the best decision because it finally gave her the much-desired “sense of peace.”
“I can still fulfill my dream of helping horses. I can implement it by contributing to the rescue work,” says the actress. She says that “getting rid of belongings and real estate” will help her family cope more easily with the inevitable changes, and sorting through things has brought back many fond memories.
“By selling what I don’t need anymore, I will make money that I can spend on creating new memories, memories with the people I love the most.” I will be able to take my mother on vacation because I will have more free funds. It will be the best investment,” said Sh. Doherty.
Breast Cancer Sh. Doherty was diagnosed in 2015.
