He revealed how V. Putin’s words have changed: they no longer mention a peaceful and prosperous future

in 2024 the president’s speech became almost twice as short compared to 2018. language – from 12 minutes and 20 seconds, it was shortened to 7 minutes and 20 seconds, according to the independent portal “Agentstvo”.

This time, V. Putin, addressing the Russians, did not mention “homelands abroad”, limiting himself to Russian citizens in the regions and “historical lands”. He also singled out the participants of the “special operation” in Ukraine (that’s how he calls the war in Ukraine – ed. post).

In six years, if we compare 2018 and 2024. speeches, the meanings of work and life have changed for V. Putin. If in 2018 he believed that “my duty and the meaning of my life is to do everything for Russia, for its present and future – peaceful and prosperous, for the preservation and continuity of our great nation, for the well-being of every Russian family”, that is, in 2024. the meaning and content of the president’s work became “to defend Russia and serve our people”.

What is “above everything” for the president has also changed. in 2018 it was “serving the people, our Motherland”, and in 2024 – “The interests and security of the Russian people.”

in 2024 V. Putin did not mention the Constitution. Speaking about the social and political system, he noted that “it must be strong and absolutely resistant to any challenges and threats, ensure advanced and stable development, unity and independence of the country. In a previous speech, referring to the Constitution, the president said that he sees the development of Russia in “the harmonious unity of a free citizen, a responsible civil society and a strong, capable, democratic state.”

In his 2024 in his speech, the Russian president did not mention anything about state and municipal institutions. in 2018 he noted: “People rightly want their concerns addressed promptly, their suggestions, comments, and demands treated with due consideration, and reputation, honor, promptness, and openness the norm for government officials at all levels.”

It is no longer about the freedom of entrepreneurs, scientists and creators

This time V. Putin did not talk about the “freedom space” of citizens. in 2018 he said it should be extended to “entrepreneurs and scientists, people in creative work and active, caring citizens.” V. Putin saw in that “the key to the continuity of our strategic course and the sustainable development of Russia”.

In his new speech, V. Putin did not mention the need to develop all areas of Russian life (in 2018, he asserted that Russia “needs a breakthrough in all areas of life”). in 2018 he argued that “such a breakthrough can only be achieved by a free society that embraces all that is new and advanced and rejects injustice, indolence, slumbering patronage, and bureaucratic deadness.”

However, this year the part of the speech about international relations has increased significantly and its tone has changed. in 2018 he unreservedly stated that “we are open to dialogue” and “for equal and mutually beneficial cooperation with all nations for peace and stability on our planet.” in 2024 V. Putin appeared open only to those countries “that see Russia as a reliable and honest partner”. Speaking about the Western countries, V. Putin said: “The choice is theirs: are they going to continue trying to stop Russia’s development, continue the policy of aggression and constant pressure on our country for many years, or seek the path of cooperation and peace.”

V. Putin ended his new speech with the bellicose phrase “Together we will win!” in 2018. The Russian president promised: “We will definitely succeed!” I believe we will succeed. I will do everything in my power to make it happen.”
