The Independent: Russia is no longer using the Crimea bridge to supply its forces

--

After repeated Ukrainian attacks on the Kerch bridge connecting mainland Russia with Crimea, Moscow began using land routes in annexed eastern Ukraine to supply its front lines.

Noticed reduced traffic on the Crimean Bridge

According to analysts of Molfar, Ukraine’s largest private intelligence agency, analysis of satellite images shows that the bridge built by Russia in 2014. after the annexation of Crimea, there is almost no traffic.

Satellite photos taken by the Maxar company show that for more than three months, the railway line of the bridge has been almost empty of military freight trains.

During that period, only on February 29 one Russian freight train was seen carrying about 55 fuel wagons across the bridge.

According to Molfar, there was no movement of Russian military equipment on the bridge in March and April.

Traffic has been reduced to four passenger trains and one general purpose freight train per day.

The decision to no longer use the Kerch Bridge to supply resources to Russian forces is related to the increased flow of cargo through the Rostov region, Molfar CEO Artiomas Starosiek told The Independent.

Ukraine considers the Crimean bridge a legitimate target for its forces, arguing that it is being used to supply Russian forces.

We remind you that last July the Ukrainians hit the Crimean bridge hard. Traffic on it is stopped almost regularly due to a possible threat.

Ethe expert named the date when the Crimean bridge could collapse.
