“I know it sounds overwhelming, especially to the younger generation, but we have to get used to the fact that a new era has begun: pre-war. I am not exaggerating, it is becoming clearer every day, D. Tusk told the German newspaper “Die Welt” and the media of European partners. – I don’t want to scare anyone, but war is no longer a concept of the past. It’s real, it started more than two years ago.”
According to D. Tusk, the most worrying thing right now is that any scenario is possible. “We haven’t seen a situation like this since 1945,” he said. That year, Hitler’s Germany capitulated and World War II ended.
However, D. Tusk also emphasized that a mentality revolution is taking place in Europe. No one doubts the need for common defense anymore. According to him, a huge turning point has occurred in Germany, both main parties CDU and SPD are competing, which of them is more pro-Ukrainian.
The Polish Prime Minister also spoke about how Russia uses migrants and called for more consistent protection of the European Union’s external borders.
“The entire European Union, as a powerful organization, must be morally ready to fight for the security of our borders and territory,” he said.
