In the match against “Crvena Zvezda”, Zalgiris fans will organize a support action for Ukraine

After the war started by the Russians in Ukraine, the match between Kaunas “Žalgiris” and Belgrade “Crvena Zvezda” teams is heating up.

Another confrontation between the two teams is coming. It will take place on January 20 in Kaunas.

At the very moment when Crvena Zvezda Belgrade players refused to hold a banner calling for an end to hostilities in Ukraine last season, it became clear that this club, its values, and fans are giving themselves Russian wool.

Later we saw the absurd and widely heard statements of the representatives of this club about how sports should not be confused with politics. Yes, the same people who explain that Kosovo is Serbia in every match call for no politics in sports. Then the accusations of Nazism and all the other narrative of pro-Russian crap started.

It is clear that in this world-changing conflict, we are on opposite sides of the barricades with the Crvena Zvezda club and its fans. They choose to support the imperialist policy of Russia, we choose to defend our Ukrainian brothers from rapists and murderers.

On Friday, the Belgrade club will visit Kaunas again and it is already clear that the Žalgiris Arena will be full.

We encourage everyone who comes to the match to carry the flags of not only Lithuania, Žalgiris, but also Ukraine. If it makes someone angry, let them explode.

The support of all of us in the Žalgiris Arena has experienced a great rise over the past year, but on Friday a new page must be opened in the history of the Lithuanian fan scene.
