Already tonight in Kaunas, the draw for the group stage of the European Girls U19 Championship, which will be held in Lithuania in July, will be drawn.

The live broadcast of the draw ceremony will be available on the LRT.lt platform from 7 p.m.

We remind you that the Lithuanian national team will also play as hosts in the championship, and England, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Ireland, Serbia and Spain will also compete in the tournament.

The draw will divide the eight participants of the tournament into two groups of four teams each, the teams that took the first two places in the groups will enter the semi-finals, and the teams that won the semi-finals will meet in the final.

Before the draw ceremony, we invite you to get to know all the teams a little closer – UEFA has prepared a short overview of all the teams.

England

First qualifying round (Group A2, played in Wales). 2-0 against Greece, 6-1 against Wales and 1-0 against the Czech Republic.

Second qualifying round (Group A3, played in Portugal). They defeated Switzerland 2-0, beat Portugal 1-0 and won 4-1 against Italy.

Top scorer – Poppy Pritchard (4 goals).

Best achievement – female winners (2009).

England have made three more finals appearances but have not made it past the group stage since their last appearance in 2013.

France

First qualifying round (Group A1, played in France). Defeated Northern Ireland 4-0, Hungary 1-0 and Italy 2-0.

Second qualifying round (Group A4, played in the Czech Republic). Ukraine was defeated 2:0, Norway 1:0, Czech Republic 5:0.

The most productive player – Liana Joseph (4 goals).

Best achievement – female winners (2003, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019).

They won all six of their qualifying matches without conceding a goal, just like Spain did last year before winning the 2023 tournament.

Germany

First qualifying round (group A4, played in Finland). Defeated Israel 7:1, Norway 4:0, played Finland 1:1.

Second qualifying round (Group A7, played in Hungary). Romania was defeated 2:0, Hungary 6:0 and Sweden 4:1.

The most productive players are Paulina Bartz and Melina Reuter (6 goals each).

Best achievement – female winners (2000, 2001, 2002, 2006, 2007, 2011).

In the second round of selection, seven players who won the European Girls U17 Championship in 2022 competed in the team. Among them are Paulina Bartz and Laura Gloning, who were both in the WU19 squad last year, which lost to Spain in the championship final on penalties. The German women will play in the finals for a record 19th time, 11 appearances in the finals is also a record.

Lithuania

First qualifying round (group B1, played in Switzerland). 1:2 lost to Albania, 0:17 lost to Switzerland, 2:3 – to Cyprus.

Second qualifying round (group B1, played in Moldova). They lost 0:2 to Wales, 0:2 to North Macedonia and defeated Moldova 2:0.

The most productive player is Meida Proscevičiūtė (2 goals).

The best achievement will be the team’s first final tournament.

In 2018, the Lithuanian girls’ U17 national team played in the European Girls’ Championship, as well as the hosts.

The Netherlands

First qualifying round (Group A6, played in Belgium). Faroe Islands were defeated 8-0, Belgium 3-1 and Ireland 4-0.

Second qualifying round (Group A6, played in Bosnia and Herzegovina). Bosnia and Herzegovina was defeated 10:0, Poland 3:0, Finland 2:1.

The most productive player is Danique Tolhoek (13 goals).

Best achievement – female winners (2014).

Ireland

First qualifying round (Group A6, played in Belgium). Lost 0:2 to Belgium, defeated Faroe Islands 4:0 and lost 0:4 to the Netherlands.

Second qualifying round (group A2, played in Croatia). They defeated Iceland 4:1, Austria 1:0 and Croatia 3:0.

The most productive player – Joy Ralph (3 goals).

The best achievement is the semi-final (2014).

They reached the final tournament for the second time, at the first attempt in 2014, they defeated Spain, England and Sweden in the group and reached the semi-finals.

Serbia

First qualifying round (Group A7, played in Albania). They defeated Belarus 2:0, Scotland 2:0 and Iceland 2:0.

Second qualifying round (Group A5, played in Serbia). Played 2-2 with Slovakia, crushed Belarus 7-0 and defeated Belgium 2-0.

The most productive player is Nina Matejič (7 goals).

The best achievement is the group stage (2012).

The Serbian girls’ U19 national team reached the final tournament for the second time.

Spain

First qualifying round (Group A5, played in Sweden). They defeated Turkey 4:0, Sweden 3:0 and Portugal 9:1.

Second qualifying round (Group A1, played in Slovenia). Slovenia was defeated 5:0, Greece 7:0 and Denmark 2:0.

The most productive players are Jone Amezaga and Laia Martret (4 goals each).

Best achievement – female winners (2004, 2017, 2018, 2022, 2023)

The Spaniards won not only the last two European Girls U19 Championships, but also became the World Girls U20 Champions in 2020, and will defend this title later this year in Colombia. The current generation of soccer players, born in 2005, became the U17 girls’ world champions in 2022.

We remind you that the final tournament will take place on July 14-27 in Kaunas, Marijampole and Jonava.
