“It’s really very disappointing how it all ended for me and for us. This disappointed and angered us. It’s hard to watch the playoffs now, knowing that we could have played here, too. It is hard to digest the news that we are not in the playoffs.

I can only say that now it is difficult to finally assess whether it was not a bad season. Most of the time, when you miss the playoffs, your team loses more than it wins.

Well, maybe there is an approximate balance. But this time we won more victories, but we didn’t get anywhere”, said D. Sabonis at the club’s season closing press conference.

However, the Lithuanian did not think that it was a complete fiasco of the club: “I don’t think that the confidence of all of us has weakened after this failure.

This will only motivate us even more. I believe that when climbing up, you should always take a step back so that you can bounce back and jump up. What happened to us now can help us in the future.”

In this NBA season, the Kings finished the regular season with 46 wins and 36 losses, finishing ninth.

Last season, the Kings won 48 games and finished third.

D. Sabonis played in all 84 games this NBA season and averaged 19.4 points, 13.7 rebounds and 8.2 assists.

The Lithuanian collected as many as 79 double-doubles and 26 triple-doubles, and 64 double-doubles in a row is the best result in the NBA.
