For the 22-year-old Polish tennis star, this is the 20th career title on the WTA tour. She became the youngest tennis player to achieve this trophy mark since Caroline Wozniacki (2012).

I. Swiatek, who has earned the status of a real clay court queen in recent seasons, had three Roland Garros titles and two WTA 1000 tournaments in Rome and WTA 500 championships in Stuttgart to her credit, but she has not won a single trophy in Madrid so far.

“When I look at this victory in a few years, I have no doubt that it will be extremely valuable. Now I’m just happy that I managed to win this tournament. It doesn’t matter to me whether I have won the tournament before, I enter every tournament with the desire to triumph,” the champion said.

Now I. Swiatek has won the last seven WTA finals. According to the trophies won (3) and victories (30) this year, she tied with Jelena Rybakina (WTA-4), and in head-to-head confrontations against A.Sabalenka, she already leads 7:3.

In addition to 1000 WTA rating points, the champion received a very solid cash prize of 922 thousand euros.
