According to Paris firefighters, there is no danger of a major collapse. The cause of the accident, which happened just a few months before the Olympic Games in the French capital, is still unknown.

The Moulin Rouge cabaret, with its distinctive red windmill blades, is located in the north of Paris and is one of the city’s most visited attractions. It is famous as the birthplace of the modern Cancan dance.

Images posted on social media show a block of mill blades falling onto the street, with some of the blades bent, likely from the impact of the fall.

“Fortunately, it happened after the closure,” a Moulin Rouge employee told AFP on condition of anonymity. “Every week, the technical teams of the cabaret check the mechanism of the windmill and did not notice any problems,” said the source, adding that there is no further information about the cause of the collapse.

He said it was the first such disaster since the cabaret at the foot of Montmartre opened its doors in 1889. on October 6. It has grown rapidly in popularity and is on the must-see list of many tourists in Paris. Tourists flock to see its facade or to enter the show.

The incident has raised concerns about whether Paris, one of the world’s most visited cities, is ready to welcome thousands more visitors for the Olympics in July and August.

The only accident at Moulin Rouge was a fire during construction in 1915. and forcing the cabaret to close for nine years.
