“On 03/04/2024, the District Court of the city of Vilnius received the request of the applicants Donatas Montvydas and Veronika Montvydienes to terminate their marriage with the mutual consent of both spouses.
28/03/2024 this civil case was examined at the court session in accordance with the written procedure.
The court, following Articles 3.51-3.54 of the Civil Code of the Republic of Lithuania and Articles 538-541 of the Code of Civil Procedure of the Republic of Lithuania, decided to grant the request of the applicants”, Giedrius Janonis, representative of the office of the president of the court for relations with the public, commented to Delfi.
It became clear at the end of February that the couple’s divorce petition had reached the court.
Delphi reminds that there has been talk of the singer and dancer’s falling apart marriage for some time. The famous man himself recently spoke on this topic.
D. Montvydas shared his thoughts on social networks. He said that although he and his wife are divorcing, the family will remain with them throughout their lives.
“I have made a decision not to speak publicly about my personal life, but lately I feel that it gives way too much space to talk that hurts me and my family.
I chose to remain a public figure for the love of music and creativity, I never sought artificial attention or popularity. I am not sharing this message to draw attention to my talent, achievements or values, but primarily to protect and reassure my loved ones.
My wife Veronika and I are currently in the process of a divorce, but having created so much together, we will be a family for life. This woman is the mother of the most wonderful children in the world, my supporter of most of the biggest events in my life, my other half, with whom we continue to have a friendly, loving relationship, and for the opportunity to experience these real things I will be grateful for a lifetime.
To those who respect me and my family, please do not speculate or look for reasons. All the rumors I’ve heard only confirm why the world today is so unsafe, shallow and irresponsible. Apparently, this message won’t change much either, but out of self-respect, I can’t just remain an observer.
I support the LGBT community, as well as my circle of friends who belong to it, but I myself have always been and am sure of my orientation. I have never had any attraction or relationship with men. I have been and will remain loyal to women. This is how I know and feel myself.
I have no reason to make any excuses or share this information as it is a personal matter for each person – however I wanted to put an end to it.

Delphi reminds that Veronika and Donatas got married in September 2013. The couple, who said the words of the oath of eternal love in a small circle of relatives, sought to avoid attention and hide this special celebration from the eyes of the media and the public.
The couple, who had their first child Adele in October 2013, also did not want to open too much about the joy that visited the family.
“These changes in our lives are to be expected and planned. I understand that this topic is interesting to many people, but I will not say more about it for now. We would like to ask that you respect our privacy. Suffice it to say that we are very happy”, said D. Montvydas after the news about the first storks visiting the family in Delfi spread.
In 2017, the family had a second child, a boy, whom they named Kajaus.
