LSDP leader Vilija Blinkevičiūtė is not on the list, as she will not take part in the ranking according to the procedure in force in the party. The party chairman promises to announce her decision on participation in the autumn Seimas elections in mid-June.
Among the candidates on the list are current Seimas members Tomas Bičiūnas, Rasa Budbergytė, Linas Jonauskas, Orinta Leiputė, Gintautas Paluckas, Julius Sabatauskas, Dovilė Šakalienė, Eugenijus Sabutis, Algirdas Sysas, Kęstutis Vilkauskas, Matas Skamarakas.
The list also includes Jonava district mayor Mindaugas Sinkevičius, Vilnius district mayor Robertas Duchnevičius, LSDP honorary chairman Vytenis Andriukaitis, former ministers Rimantas Šadžius, Rimantas Sinkevičius, Šarūnas Birutis.
Former members of the Seimas Linas Balsys and Birutė Vėsaitė, former mayor of Klaipėda Vytautas Grubliauskas, political scientist Liutauras Gudžinskas, former head of the Infectious Diseases and AIDS Center Saulius Čaplinskas, writer Giedrius Drukteinis, ex-parliamentarian, representative of the world of entertainment Antanas Nedzinskas and others will also be ranked.
The list of LSDP candidates for the Seimas, which only includes party members, will be ranked on May 16-18. It is planned to be finally approved at the party conference in mid-June.
Currently, LSDP has 13 members in the parliament.
Seimas elections will be held on October 13.
