The business development of biotechnological company UAB Memel Biotech will be managed by Karolina Karl, former head of the Life Sciences team of VšĮ “Invest Lithuania”.
K. Karl will be responsible for the development of Memel Biotech’s partner network, cooperation with innovative companies developing medical preparations in the field of cell and gene therapy – from clinical trials to production and commercialization stages, according to the report.
K. Karl worked for the last 7 years at the foreign investment agency “Invest in Lithuania”. Having started as a junior investment advisor, she led the Life Sciences team for the past few years – contributed to the development of investors in the country, representation of the biotechnology sector in the international arena, and the development of Lithuania’s life sciences strategy.
Agnė Vaitkevičienė, the company’s manager, told VŽ in more detail about the development of Memel Biotech and the laboratory set up in Klaipėda.
“Memel Biotech” is a Lithuanian manufacturer of advanced therapy, which includes gene and cell therapy products.
