Klaipėda announces the start of summer in June 1, inviting you to the second beach kite festival “Winds of Winds”. The event will encourage you not only to raise your eyes to the sky and enjoy the Klaipėda seashore, but also to offer many maritime activities, education, and musical performances. A fiesta of half a dozen big figure kites will be spread out on the Melnragė Disabled Beach, in a stretch of almost 400 meters. Small and large groups, families, communities and groups are invited to fill the festival canopy with their kites.

On the first Saturday of summer, June 1st, the Klaipėda seaside will be colored by the “Winds of Winds” beach figure kite festival. The highlight of the festival, as it should be, will be the large figure kites, which are the most important highlight of this type of festivals around the world.

“A kite is a dream. It doesn’t matter if you are young or old, no matter what your hobbies are – these colorful creations make you smile, connect people, bring communities together and bring happiness. We are happy that for the second time we will invite all the “dreamers” to celebrate Klaipėda, the sea, and by raising a colorful kite we will give you the opportunity to fly your dream”, says Eglė Šulskė, director of VšĮ “Klaipėdos śvatės”.

This time kites owned and offered by Lithuanian enthusiasts will fly at the event. During the festival, half a dozen large figurative kites with a length of up to 44 meters will take to the sky. During the festival, a record will be aimed for, but what it is – the festival organizers have not revealed yet.

On June 1, the festival organized on the disabled beach in Melnragė will offer a full day of activities and entertainment. From 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. big kites, kite workshops, competitions, musical performances will await the festival guests. True, if the wind is very favorable, the festival could last longer.

Another news this year is that the festival is growing and will take place over two days. On May 31, a fun and colorful flying kite workshop will be held, during which around 400 kites will be made. For the second time, festival guests will be invited to cook on June 1, at the venue. Here you will have the opportunity to make your own kite, ensuring the sustainability and ecology of the means.

THE PROGRAM IS COMING SOON.
