Mini is not only on stage

“All Lithuanian holidays are important to me, and as a singer, I usually celebrate them on stage – singing alone or with a choir. And so since childhood. I think that every Lithuanian citizen celebrates Lithuania’s Independence Day, Europe Day. Well, it is clear how without our celebration of St. John’s Day, Mindaugia’s Day and other fun Lithuanian Christian holidays. Most of the time, during these summer occasions, we get together at home – we socialize, rest, and have fun grilling something.

To tell the truth, I’m not the one who stands at the grill, so I prefer to eat burgers made by my mother or my brother”, says the one who celebrates his birthday tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow with the boy group “T3” of the “Voice of Lithuania” project. The singer Ignas Novikovas will perform in the finale of Kartos.

Public holidays are also extremely significant for singers Giulia and Monika Falcon.

“I’m glad that my country is free and you can confidently be proud of Lithuania. I represent my homeland on all stages of the world – it is very important to me,” says Monika.

She assures that her love for the motherland was brought up by her family.

TV presenter Tomas Grigaitis also acquired solid foundations of love for Lithuania in his native home.

“Public holidays usually remind us of what shaped our destiny. And I, who was born in an already independent Lithuania, always feel great respect and thank those thanks to whom we are free,” says the interviewer.

In his house, public holidays are always of great importance.

“We decorate the house with thematic attributes, we combine the color scheme of the food, this is also reflected in our clothes. We invite friends to visit us or, upon receiving an invitation, we go to their place. Our circle of relatives, just like us, celebrates the best holidays of the year from the heart”, says T. Grigaitis, like other interviewees, who participated in the celebration of commemorating the name of Lithuania organized by griliai.lt and in the pursuit of a record.

An unusual decision

T.Grigaitis has no doubt that this unusual way of remembering an extremely important occasion for the state and announcing the start of a new grilling season will draw the public’s attention and stimulate patriotic feelings once again.

“We celebrate public holidays both on stage and with family. It is important for us to be together, to discuss the importance of the anniversary, how much it has given us,” says Robert Jucevičius, a member of the 16 Hz group.

Illusionist Modestas Petrikas also says that public holidays are a great opportunity to meet friends and remember what we often simply forget or take for granted during everyday work.

“What a joy it is to live, create in Lithuania and be free”, the interviewer has no doubts.

The idea of lighting 52 COBB grills and frying 1015 sausages at the same time belongs to Mindaugas Kalvaičius.

“Grilling enthusiasts, amateurs, professional chefs and, of course, anyone who wants to, had the opportunity to work together to achieve this unique record on specially prepared grills, arranged in such a way that they represent the number 1015 – the time before which Lithuania was first mentioned in the annals of Quedlinburg”, – says the author of the idea.

Mr. Kalvaitis, who has been immersed in the secrets of grilling for many years, assured me that this time he managed to combine two things that are important to him: love for the Motherland and food.
