A 32-year-old man encountered robbers late on Monday evening – at around 10 p.m., the attackers who approached his garage in an unidentified car started beating him with fists, threatening him, and then stole a four-wheeler and tools for vehicle repair.

After beating the victim, the criminals broke the windows of the cars being repaired in the garage, causing a total of 5 thousand. euro loss.

On Tuesday morning, police officers arrested 30- and 28-year-old men suspected of robberies.

The latter were caught in the town of Raudondvaris in Pakouna, located approximately 20 kilometers from the scene of the crime.

The suspects were also found with loot stolen from the garage.

Both young men ended up in custody.

Kaunas prosecutor Edita Sangavičiūtė informed the lrytas.lt portal on Thursday that she will not go to court for the arrest of the suspects, as they have been assigned lighter pretrial measures.

It is believed that the attackers and their victim may be acquaintances.

The authorities are currently investigating the motives of the robbery and other details.

It cannot be ruled out that the brutal attack may be related to possible unpaid debts or other disagreements of a financial nature.

The detainees are not linked to organized crime, but are known to law enforcement. One of them was convicted of minor bodily injury.

They face up to 7 years of imprisonment for robbery.
