A resident of Klaipėda was frightened by the plaster falling off the building on Tiltų street. For this reason, firefighters were called, who arrived and surrounded the area with a stop tape. Nevertheless, on the same day, the residents, instead of going around the fenced area, tore off one part of the tape.

It was observed that people behaved similarly the next day as well. Since one part of the stop bar is missing, the other part is simply raised by passers-by.

Territory Tiltų st. 24 fenced on Tuesday around 3pm. Firefighters rushed here and surrounded her with the aforementioned stop tape.

“There was a report about plaster falling from the roof or part of the facade on Tiltų street. A passer-by reported, and colleagues surrounded it with a stop tape to prevent injury to passers-by. The municipality, as the owner of the city, has been notified,” said Aurelija Maslauskienė, chief specialist of the State Fire Protection Department of the Klaipėda Fire Rescue Board.

Klaipėda municipality representatives said that they are aware of this situation. And regarding the condition of the building and repairs or other works, the company that administers the building has already been approached.

“The municipality is aware of this situation. The representatives of the company managing the building have been contacted, who are clarifying the situation in more detail, and the municipality will be additionally informed about the planned measures to solve the situation”, said the specialists of the Communication Department of the Klaipėda municipality.
