On Thursday morning, an unknown man broke into two schools in Alytus and started harassing the students, wanted to take them outside. Police officers were called to the scene and arrested the mentioned man at the entrance of one of the educational institutions.

The first incident was recorded around 7 am. 30 minutes in the pro-gymnasium of the sources. As Kristina Janulevičienė, head of the Communication Sub-Department of the Alytus County Chief Police Commissariat, said, an apparently elderly man who entered the school began to behave inappropriately, attacked a 16-year-old schoolgirl, and tried to take her outside.

About 8 o’clock a similar incident happened at the Putini Gymnasium. The same man started harassing another sixteen-year-old girl again. Soon, police officers rushed here and arrested the attacker at the entrance to the gymnasium.

It was established that he is a 73-year-old man. Suspecting that he might have mental disorders, the officers arrested him and brought him to Alytus Hospital.

According to the police representative, the minors did not suffer any physical injuries, but one of the schoolgirls experienced an emotional shock, so a doctor was consulted.

The detained man is known to the police. He has been punished many times for various administrative offences, violations of road traffic rules. In this case, administrative proceedings have also been initiated against him for violation of public order.
