The analog photography laboratory of the Alytus branch of the Kaunas School of Applied Arts, “Photography Museum”, which lives in the mood of its founding, already has what was missing the most! The Alytus “Rotary” club donated the display cabinet of methodological material to the institution.

This unique piece of furniture, designed by Ernest Kubilius, was produced by the company “Alsotana”.

“Exhibits are piling up. The number of cameras, other photo equipment is increasing… We already have quite a few books about photography! We thank everyone who contributed to the implementation of our idea”, said the creator of the Museum of Photography, teacher of the Alytus branch of the Kaunas School of Applied Arts, well-known photographer Stasys Šmigelskas.

The Rotarians of Alytus visited the Museum of Photography, which is being established, and viewed the exhibits – photographic equipment, books about photography, photo albums of Lithuanian authors. Eglė Liškevičienė, head of the school’s practical training, presented the educational programs of the institution to the guests.

“After consulting with each other, the members of our club decided to help the Photography Museum being established in the Alytus branch of the Kaunas School of Applied Arts and donate a large, capacious cabinet for exhibits. It did not require any very large resources and resources for us, but this piece of furniture was really necessary and important for the institution. We are happy to have been able to contribute at least somewhat to the implementation of another beautiful, new initiative in Alytus,” said Karolis Aleknavičius, president of the Alytus Rotary Club.
