Specialists of the Geological Service notice that many residents do not register the boreholes in their gardens, believing that it is not necessary to do so, because the borehole is shallow (for example, up to 15 m) or because they installed it themselves.

Therefore, the Geological Service of Lithuania emphasizes: it is necessary to register all fresh groundwater wells in the Register of the Earth’s Depths. And not only because the depths of the earth are the exclusive property of the state. It is especially important to remember that unorganized wells can be sources of pollution – for example, pollution can spread to neighboring properties through a well installed in the neighborhood.

How to legalize an individual self-sufficiency well?
