Remote solar parks – a solution for business: what makes it so attractive?

--

Now, after purchasing or renting a part of the operating solar park, electricity starts to be generated immediately, the business does not have to wait for the start of its generation.

It is one of the business that strives to be less dependent on fluctuating electricity prices and invest in sustainable electricity, to produce for it. However, in order to prepare a solar power plant, you need to answer many questions, some of which are particularly difficult or even unsolvable: will you get ESO conditions, will there be enough space to prepare solar modules, or are you planning to change the premises? If it is difficult to find answers about your own solar power plant, then the solution is a remote solar park. It solves many questions.

Reasons for choice

A large part of the business is growing progressively and is moving towards a cost-effective solution and the possibility of crossing over the existing opportunities for energy use. Our ingenuity, availability and abundance of solutions allow us to solve today’s electricity issues in a smart way: choosing the best supplier, meeting the needs of the business with the electricity plan and whether it is reliable or poor, building your own solar power plant or using a remote solar park, Gryt Kaminskien, of the company Elektrum Lietuva Verslo, shares his customer experience head of the decision department.

According to her, the motivations of business customers to choose remote solar parks are usually the same. Apart from the aspect of economy and sustainability, which also characterizes solar power, remote parks are seen as a very convenient solution.

One of the most mentioned advantages is that when owning or renting part of a remote solar park and producing electricity there, the customer does not have to access it. It is also a no less important aspect that the customer can use the electricity immediately as soon as the agreement is signed, we undertake to provide him with a predetermined amount of electricity, says the head of the Business Solutions Department of Elektrum Lietuva.

For example, SEB banka, which is implementing ambitious goals in the field of sustainability, chose the solution of a remote solar park as the only means. The company has to achieve its goal until 2045. reduce CO2 to zero.

Ramnas Biiulaitis, financial director of SEB bank and head of business support service: Based on the data received, we decided to purchase a 500 kW remote solar power plant from Elektrum Lietuva, which will produce the electricity needed for our three-room offices.

First of all, we analyzed and calculated what time our buildings use the most electricity. Based on the received data, we decided to purchase a 500 kW remote solar power plant from Elektrum Lietuva, which will produce the necessary electricity for our offices. We did not buy a larger solar power plant, because we understand that on sunny days we would produce excess electricity, which should be given to storage. In this case, there will be balancing cats, which will be charged on the ever-consuming electricity. That’s why we decided to go the other way and apply a combined energy supply model, where several sources are used to supply electricity, says Ramnas Biiulaitis, financial director of SEB bank and head of Business Support Service.

Avoids risks

The specialists of Elektrum Lietuva point out that those who decide to build solar power plants themselves usually have the only option of the roof of their building, which is not necessarily the most suitable for the solar power plant. And for those who do not have a roof or plot of property suitable for the development of a solar power plant, there is generally no possibility to build a solar power plant.

In order to build your own solar power plant, you need to go through a lot of steps: choose a reliable contractor, hire one, assess your roof or embankment plot, whether it will be suitable for construction, assess the possibilities of your network to connect the solar power plant, physically prepare the power plant, submit the contractor’s declaration. And after purchasing a part of the solar park, the client does not need to do anything, the developer handles all the documentation and ensures access to the event and service.

Our specialists select plots for solar parks and install modules in them in such a way as to ensure the highest production of electricity, says G. Kaminskien. Also, the client avoids the risk of not receiving the ESO connection conditions or saves the necessary investments to obtain them. It’s no secret that in order to fulfill these conditions, sometimes you have to invest a lot.

It is important for those considering investments that after buying or renting a part of an active solar park, the business does not have to wait for the start of electricity generation.

So, it can be said that typical customers choosing a remote solar park solution, builders who are constantly connecting or disconnecting different objects and do not have an exact power requirement, as well as those who do not have a suitable roof or plot for a solar power plant or an object they own, and the third group, who rent premises and have higher electricity consumption, summarizes the head of the Business Solutions Department of Elektrum Lietuva.

Intelligence and payback

According to her, the blind course chosen by the European Union and the growing awareness of business that we need to conserve the environment much more, encourages us to pay more attention to sustainability and make practical decisions.

Gryt Kaminskien, Elektrum Lithuania Head of Business Solutions Department: Producing electricity from solar energy can reduce the electricity bill by more than 70%.

It is also important for business that resourcefulness is related to savings. Because producing electricity from solar energy can reduce the electricity bill by more than 70%. However, how much efficiency will be achieved depends a lot on the user’s commitment and the choice of where to invest, emphasizes the head of the Business Solutions Department at Elektrum Lietuva.

She also points out that the start time of the solar power plant’s investment will also depend on its profitability. Solar modules produce electricity all year round, but in the last season of the year, in November, they generate much more. Therefore, if the solar park starts working in autumn, the user will produce less electricity and will not use the solar cycle all year round, losing the most efficient period. Therefore, when choosing a solar park, it is necessary to take into account the date of the start of energy production.

For example, after purchasing a part of the park that will start operating, let’s say, in November, the user will not produce the required amount of electricity in the autumn, because the power plant will start producing efficiently only in the spring. It will also have the same payback period for half a year, all of which ultimately boils down to finances. And if you connect to the park in the spring, you will be able to produce enough electricity for yourself, so that you can use it as well.

Efficiency and guarantees

Elektrum Lietuva specialists also advise you to check the efficiency of the solar modules you are purchasing. This has a direct impact on the costs incurred by the consumer purchasing electricity production capacity. In the event that the developer of the solar park guarantees extremely high solar electricity production per kilowatt, the total amount of kilowatts purchased will be lower. There is also a service fee for the solar park, which is also calculated per kilowatt, so the investment will pay off faster.

If the electric kilowatt is less efficient, the kilowatt will be needed more, correspondingly it will be more expensive for the consumer. For example, the high-power two-way modules used in our parks generate electricity not only from direct sunlight, but also from reflected light. It is necessary that the two-way module at the right conditions can produce up to 20% more electricity than a standard one-way module of the same power, emphasizes G. Kaminskien.

The investment in solar electricity generation capacity pays for itself in 56 years on average, and if APVA support is used, the payback time can be shortened by a year. For example, according to this time until September 19 during the APVA support call, 217 EUR/kW without VAT is financed, up to 200,000 EUR in total. Support for medium and large companies can be used to build a solar power plant and purchase a part of the park.

When considering the purchase of a part of the solar park, priority should be given to those projects that provide the longest guarantees, not only for quality, construction, and installation work, but also for what the efficiency of the module will be after a few decades of use.

If you’re already making an investment like this, it’s critical that it last as long as possible. Just like in the construction sector, it is important to find out what kind of construction, who takes responsibility, who will approach the solar park, advises the head of the Business Solutions Department at Elektrum Lietuva.
